Information about MF Julsund

On December 31st, 2004, the MF Julsund, Aker Aukra AS’ 111th build, was delivered to its final destination at Møre og Romsdal Fylkesbåtar AS. The ferry is the newest addition to the Aukra-Hollingsholm service. It measures in at approximately 84 meters from bow to stern and can fit a maximum of 87 cars, a 100% increase in service capacity.

In previous years, the service has not been able to fit all the cars wishing to board, much to the dismay of the local population. The Julsund features revolutionary technology, including high-tech propelling that allows for unmatched maneuverability. Below deck lies four powerful Volvo Penta diesel engines, each with a maximum efficiency of 404kW. The ferry will begin service effective immediately.
