NSK is a Norwegian ship design and engineering company headquartered in Harstad. The company traces its roots back to Nordnorsk Skipskonsult, established in Øksnes in 1992, and has since evolved into a maritime centre of expertise with offices along the entire Norwegian coastline.
We work with newbuilds, conversions, technical documentation, and inspection services. For our customers, this means we can be involved from the initial assessment of a vessel's purpose and requirements, through design and engineering, and all the way through construction, approval, and delivery.
Much of the development in Norway's maritime industries takes place at the intersection of biology, technology, and seafaring. Our employees have worked closely within these areas for many years. A vessel is a major investment, but it is also a tool and a workplace that must perform reliably every day. That's why we understand the operation, the people on board, and the technical requirements behind it — and that makes the design better.
What matters most is not that we are satisfied with the design ourselves, but that the customer gets a vessel that meets their needs. Only when the customer is satisfied are we satisfied.
