Project Story
Inter Atlantic is a wellboat developed for Intership, built at Astilleros Zamakona in Spain and delivered in 2022. With a well volume of 2,200 m³, the vessel is designed for modern transportation and treatment operations where fish welfare, biosecurity and efficient logistics need to work together.
The design is developed for operations in demanding aquaculture areas, with particular emphasis on controlled water quality, gentle fish handling and safe working processes. The vessel is not simply a means of transportation, but a platform for the treatment, sorting and handling of live fish.
Inter Atlantic is equipped with fish-handling systems, freshwater production and technical solutions that provide flexibility across different customers and locations. The deck arrangement has been developed to allow the crew to work efficiently around hoses, valves, cranes and process equipment without compromising safety or overview.
The propulsion system is diesel-mechanical, but the design is nevertheless characterised by a clear focus on energy efficiency. Hull, propulsion, power requirements and operational patterns have been considered as an integrated whole to provide a robust and reliable vessel with good capacity for daily operations.
Inter Atlantic demonstrates how a medium-sized wellboat can combine a high level of technical complexity while remaining a clean, practical and efficient working vessel.
