Project Story

Viking Vigor is a construction support vessel developed for offshore wind and subsea operations. The vessel is being built at Sefine Shipyard and is based on a design where flexibility, lifting capacity, deck area and the energy system are adapted to a wide range of project requirements.

With a length of approximately 100 metres, a large working deck and a powerful offshore crane, Viking Vigor is developed for operations requiring both capacity and precision. The vessel can be mobilised for construction, IMR, ROV operations and other project work where equipment requirements vary from one assignment to another.

The energy system is based on diesel-electric propulsion, battery power and dual-fuel technology for methanol and diesel. This makes the vessel relevant for customers with increasing emissions requirements, without compromising its offshore capabilities.

Accommodation for a large number of personnel, DP, crane, ROV systems and an open deck arrangement make the vessel a platform for long-duration operations. For NSK Ship Design, the challenge is to create a vessel that is flexible without becoming generic.

Viking Vigor demonstrates how a modern CSV design can combine energy efficiency, working capacity and clear offshore functionality.
