Design and analysis models based on 3D scanning
3D scan-based project execution is an integral part of our working methodology for projects where vessel documentation is incomplete, or where a precise 3D-based approach offers significant advantages. This may include projects where large sections need to be prefabricated or where space is limited.
The key to creating value from 3D scanning lies in transforming a point cloud into a 3D model with the required accuracy, data content and properties for direct use in different engineering applications — without the need for new and costly modelling processes.
With more than 10 years of experience in scanning, post-processing, surveying and modelling, we have specialised in developing value-adding models based on 3D scanning. These models improve the efficiency and quality of subsequent design and analysis work.

The scanning itself is carried out in cooperation with one of our professional partners, selected based on their specialist expertise in 3D scanning and their geographical proximity to the vessel. Where required, we supplement the work with ultrasound, laser or other measurement methods to ensure the necessary and sufficient accuracy of the data.
