NSK Ship Design Designs New Wellboat for Brønnbåt Nord

NSK Ship Design will design a new wellboat for Brønnbåt Nord. The shipowner has entered into a contract for the construction of the vessel, which will have a cargo capacity of 5,000 m³ and will be built at the Spanish shipyard Zamakona Ship Yard in Bilbao.

The new vessel is a further development of Caspian, which was delivered to the shipowner in 2024. It will feature battery-hybrid propulsion, an advanced energy recovery system, a wide range of treatment solutions and onboard freshwater production.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2029.
MIL Shipping has acted as broker for the newbuild.

Brønnbåt Nord is a Northern Norwegian wellboat company headquartered in Harstad. The company is jointly owned by Salaks Holding AS (Salaks), Erling Lundbergs Holding AS (Gratanglaks) and Magne Arvesen & Sønner AS (Kleiva Fiskefarm), with each company holding a one-third share. With the new vessel, the company will have ownership interests in four vessels, one of which is jointly owned with Ellingsen Seafood.
